4 impressive videos that are out of this world
There are countless videos showcasing fantastic alien worlds with fictional landscapes and planets that impress with special effects. Much more challenging to produce are videos of alien worlds captured by cameras, without any special effects.
In this article, I have gathered 4 videos that are out of this world. 2 are from our Moon, 1 from Mars, and 1 from our Sun. The production of these videos theoretically cost many hundreds of billions of dollars: research teams working for years, salaries and equipment, material costs, building rockets for astronauts and rovers/telescopes, carrying out missions, and much more.
Cruising on the Moon
Whenever you see our moon at night or during the day: People have wandered and driven around up there with a very strange vehicle. In this clip, you'll see a version of the recordings in HD, the footage has been upscaled and rendered in color.
The most interesting part is the first-person view footage, so you can see what the astronauts saw back then.
Astronauts stumbling around on the Moon
Astronauts are also humans. They couldn't practice the "Moon Walk" on Earth because we don't have similar conditions like low gravity or a soft surface anywhere. In this clip, you'll see a compilation of all the stumbling scenes.
No one got injured, even though the falls were much more dangerous than they appear.
Humanity's first video from Mars - in HD and in color
A rover the size of a small car is dropped above Mars and gently lands on the Martian surface with a parachute. It's noticeable that estimating distances on the Martian surface is difficult because there's no point of reference.
Although the commentator's voice can be tiring, it provides information about the height and speed during the landing.
The footage was livestreamed and the commentator was just as excited as the NASA team because it wasn't clear if everything would go well.
Our epic Sun in time-lapse
Finally, we see our home star in a time-lapse video. You can observe epic solar structures and see how matter flows as if the entire celestial body were a gigantic lava ball.
The footage was captured using a telescope and assembled into a video from numerous individual images.
Unfortunately, videos of this kind cannot be easily created. They are the product of decades of research and incredibly expensive investments.
But we will keep you updated if there are new videos :)
